Seems to be a new Tradition every Halloween for me

It's no secret that Halloween is my favourite holiday of the year, sure Christmas is great but I always found that Christmas started becoming a big retail hog of a holiday not to mention that its crazy to step foot in a mall during the December month unless you're asking for trouble but gotta love Halloween you just don't get that, atleast not yet.

So among my other traditions during October like watching the Halloween movies, the carving of the pumpkin and the smuggling of the child size candy bars I've started a new tradition, one that I seem to do every single year and that's hit up the Walmart for marked down horror DVDs. Yep there's nothing more thrilling during October for me then to go into the Walmart once a week and walk down the middle walkway towards the movie section and check out the DVD displayers that they've set up. Sure they do that all the time but Christmas and especially Halloween are the times to check these out because they have the themed movies out for dirt cheap.

This year was no different, I started my venture to Walmart around the first week or so of October to see what they had and managed to find the Ultimate Edition of Dawn of the Dead for 15 bucks, 15 bucks! you can't beat that. Now the selection isn't always great right away but the trick is to keep going back every week because it starts turning into a treasure hunt for me. The first week I grabbed Dawn of the Dead and House and that was about it, week 2 on the other hand was jackpot because I was able to find the last 4 Hellraiser direct to DVD movies that I had been missing for 5 bucks a piece, I picked up Hellworld, Deader, Inferno and Hellseeker, and understand that prior to this these movies were in low distribution and to find them on Amazon meant that they were commanding around 25-35.00 a piece but here was Walmart stocking them for 5 bucks.

Every Friday becomes a rush for me, to head over to the Wal right after work and see what they have for DVD's, yeah they might not have much one day but with the different stock that they put out, one day's disappointment can quickly turn into another day's victory.

If you've been looking to beef up your horror DVD library but you don't have alot of cash to drop on new movies, I would definitely say to check out Walmart during October and see what they have, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the kind of things you'll find, some gems, alot of rare titles and all gold baby for next to nothing!!
